The Pittsburgh Steelers played spoiler tonight, as they upset the defending champion Oakland Raiders in OT, 23-20, to advance into the AFC Championship. It was really a game of defense in the first half as both teams seemed to lock the other down when it mattered most, as the only scores came on four field goals, two by each team. After the 6-6 first half, the second had a little more action, as the Steelers struck first on a 17-yard run from Scott. The Raiders answered with a drive of their own and eventually getting a Norwood 1-yard run. However, the 13-13 tie was short lived as Cassel found Crabtree on the Steelers first play from scrimmage just 20 seconds later for a 79 yard pass-and-catch TD and a 20-13 lead. But the Raiders proved to have some offense of their own as they drove down the field and got inside the redzone once again. But on a second and long, the Raiders took a blow, as McNabb went out with appeared to be an arm injury. With a passing situation looming on third down, the Raiders had to bring in backup Troy Smith to help decide their fate. And on the third and long he finds an open Hightower who is able to pick up the first down inside the 5 and just a play later, Norwood ran it in for the score to tie the game up at 20-20 a piece. With the Steelers unable to get any offense in the final 1:48 and after a kneel from the Raiders, it went to overtime for chance to move on.
